CAGES

Rows and rows of cages have been overstuffed with birds. Filthy, poorly maintained, and broken down, some birds have found themselves too clever for the flimsy constructions that kept them in. However, some birds still remained in the cages, or were unable to get out. Though, for most, the rows of consecutive cages are a place that includes more unnerving discomfort, and are a place that should not be returned to.

INTERIOR CORRIDORS

Behind all the cages of the Preserve lies a network of interior corridors. Hidden from public eye with solid wall, the interior is where the business happens. Birds are taken away from the cages and brought to who-knows-where in the twisting internal complex. Some have found their way into the corridors, through faulty cage doors, cracks in the building, or picked-apart air vents. The interior seems to be made entirely of concrete and very little light is present, except from rusted, wire-mesh skylights. Puddles of rainwater often litter the floor, as well as rust and stains. Various objects have been left on the floor, including cardboard boxes and wooden crates.

VISITOR WALKWAYS

Looking in to the front of the cages, these walkways are where the visitors of the Preserve had looked in on the birds kept inside. The walkways are enclosed in flimsy shanty fences made of chain-link, wooden panels, and anything else available. The walkways are now deserted, though often used to get from one cage to another, as the poor design of many cages has finally broken down, creating small passage ways.

THE BOXROOM

A large warehouse styled room lined with wooden crates of all sizes, the purpose of this room was to box and ship out birds to their black-market-fates. Crates are stacked into towering pyramids of confinement, and some boxes are still unopened, filled with birdseed or other supply. Various smaller, portable cages are stacked in the corner of the room. Dust and feathers cover the floor, but it has been long since people have been inside. Entrance into the room can be gained through vents in the ceiling, as well as through a door from the interior walkways. Rainwater has soaked through much of the material here, rendering much of it unusable.

BROKEN DRAINPIPE

Drains line the entirety of the Preserve's complex, due to the mesh skylights and rainy nature of the island. Just outside of the complex of the Preserve, close to an exit used by employees, is a large drainpipe with a very rusty grate covering it. Stains of a rust-like color cover the sides, and there is a foul odor that emanates from the drain. On the other side is the complex of drainpipes that runs under the entire Preserve.

Main Street is lined with all of the shops and tourist attractions of Vamazia. It winds through the extent of the city, and is where most of the commercial shops are located. At nights, it used to be a place that attracted street performers and late-night walkers. The street starts at the wharf ends at the Vamazia Grand Hotel.

The largest and by far most grand hotel of Vamazia, aptly named, the Vamazia Grand Hotel stands more like an abandoned castle. The hotel was constructed in a regal design, elaborate and elegant when it was taken care of. Now it has become ancient ruins in the ancient jungle. The hotel lobby is filled with fancy furniture. Many of the doors remain closed; however, the large glass door entrance and various windows have been smashed open inexplicably, giving limited access to the palace's once-was beauty.

Close to the shore and the wharf of Vamazia, the lighthouse, no longer functioning, used to be a beloved sight for the few residents of the island. Now desolate, the unkempt building is a dark tower, door left ajar, ominously looming over the island as a symbol of the entire city's desertion.

Various warehouses are present in the area, filled with all sorts of materials piled sky-high. The warehouse district was abandoned as well, but some items were left behind. The area can provide decent shelter as well as scavenging treasures. However, it seems that various dogs and other wildlife take frequent refuge, so the area can become a little dangerous.

All of the islands's trash makes it to this junkyard. Not particularly large due to the short-lived human habitation of the island, the junkyard is still decently full of trash that could quickly become treasures. The Preserve dumped its trash into the area as well, and to prevent people from snooping, a tall chain-link fence was put up. However, the smell of it tended to scare enough people away as was.

With no airports on the island, the only way to travel to and from Vamazia is by boat. The wharf once was a bustling area, busy with tourists and merchants alike. There are no boats left and it seems that it will be long, long before any more come. There is also a fishing pier jutting from the side decorated with few restaurant stands that had once operated.

THICK FOREST

Closest to the city, the thick, uneven-grounded forest here has prevented the further expansion of the city while it was still flourishing. The trees grow tall and wide, creating a canopy that seems impossible to see into and out of. The forest floor is dank, muddy, and cold, and it seems that sunlight rarely reaches it. The forest can become quite haunting at night, and even during the day. The lack of monkey howls and bird song seems apparent, despite the amount of birds on the island. Eerie.

The lowlands of the island, rain collects most frequently here, but trees still grow. Some ocean water makes its way into the ponds here, making a sort of mangrove forest. The trees here are thick, and the humidity even thicker. The swamp regions are a great place for insect-hunting.

This region of the island is not as dense with plant life as the other portions. However, the terrain is still uneven and hilly. Large boulders and rocks protrude from the ground and the dirt here is incredibly muddy. The rain collects in puddles at various parts of these hills. Vegetation here includes tall grasses and plants, just not trees, which often make it hard to find one's way when walking.

The island of Vamazia is encircled in rocky cliffs that are beaten away at by the relentless, powerful ocean waves. The tallest area on the island, the cliffs here are steep and rocky. Trees don't grow in this area, and the ground here is mostly rock. The wind is incredibly chilly in this area.
